On July 24, 2013, the Massachusetts Legislature replaced the cost of performance sourcing regime with a market-based sourcing rule for all tax years starting on or after January 1, 2014. The same law also added a throwout rule.  Today, the Department released their proposed regulations to implement the market sourcing and throwout rules.

Reed Smith is hosting a teleseminar on April 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm (EST) to discuss the market-based sourcing and throwout statutes and the Department’s proposed regulations. Interpretation challenges and scenarios not addressed by the regulations will be among the topics discussed.  The teleseminar will include Reed Smith’s insight and analysis to guide taxpayers into 2014 and beyond.

For more information on the proposed regulations, contact the authors of this post.  To register for Reed Smith’s teleseminar, click here (RSVP by April 9, 2014).
